  • PALS RENEWAL "CHALLENGE"

If you are not practicing PALS as a regular part of your professional role in your healthcare facility it is recommended that you take the CD-based eLearning course.

The choice of enrollment option is determined by proficiency in the subject matter. The participant is required to self assess their knowledge and skills at time of registration according to the criteria defined below.

• Performing BLS CPR skills using the most recent American Heart Association Guidelines
• Reading and interpreting ECGs
• Understanding PALS pharmacology
• Evaluating a seriously ill or injured child using the systematic approach to pediatric assessment outlined in the PALS Provider Manual

The initial course HeartCode™ PALS Part 1 offers healthcare providers a CD-based, self-directed learning option that delivers training needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and childrenf

The full course combines the interactive, CD-based cognitive portion featuring eSimulation, with PALS skills training. Part 1 includes interactive patient cases that test the user’s ability to apply the PALS algorithms to effect treatment. During the hands-on portion of the course (Parts 2 and 3), users have the opportunity to practice their skills, then complete a skills test with an AHA PALS Instructor.

Continuing Education Offered! HeartCode™ PALS Part 1 is a continuing education activity for nurses and EMS personnel.
