Choose Classroom BLS or HeartCode BLS
CPR Buddy offers two ways to earn your American Heart Association BLS Provider certification in St. Petersburg. Both options provide the same AHA BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.
Classroom BLS Certification
Complete the entire BLS course in person with an instructor. You’ll receive hands-on coaching, practice CPR and AED skills, complete the required testing, and receive your AHA eCard after successfully completing the course.
HeartCode BLS: Online Course + In-Person Skills Session
Complete the American Heart Association HeartCode BLS course online at your own pace. After finishing the online portion, attend a short in-person skills session at CPR Buddy in St. Petersburg.
During your skills session, you’ll demonstrate:
-
High-quality adult, child and infant CPR
-
Proper AED use
-
Rescue breathing and ventilation skills
-
Choking response
-
Two-rescuer BLS skills
Bring or email your HeartCode BLS course completion certificate before your skills session. After successfully completing the hands-on portion, you’ll receive your official AHA BLS Provider eCard.
Can BLS Certification Be Completed Entirely Online?
No. The American Heart Association requires a hands-on skills session to earn an AHA BLS Provider eCard. The knowledge portion can be completed online through HeartCode BLS, but CPR, AED and ventilation skills must be demonstrated in person.
Do Classroom and HeartCode Students Receive the Same BLS Card?
Yes. Both options lead to the same American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard. Choose the format that works best for your schedule and learning style.
