Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) at CPR Buddy

1. How do I access my American Heart Association eCard?
After completing your class, you’ll receive an email from the American Heart Association (AHA). Click the link in that email to claim your eCard, set up your AHA profile, and download or print your certification. If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder or search for “ecards@heart.org.”

2. How can I purchase an online class?
We offer American Heart Association HeartCode courses online. You can purchase the online portion directly through the AHA website, then schedule your skills session with CPR Buddy to complete your certification.

3. Where do I purchase HeartCode courses?
HeartCode BLS, ACLS, and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED can be purchased directly from the American Heart Association website. After completing the online portion, you’ll bring your certificate of completion to your CPR Buddy skills session.

4. What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

  • No refunds are offered for missed classes.

  • Students may reschedule up to 3 days before the scheduled class.

  • Last-minute cancellations, late arrivals, or no-shows cannot be rescheduled.

  • Virtual skills sessions are private, one-on-one — so please arrive on time with your equipment ready.

5. Where can I purchase textbooks or manuals?

  • Official AHA textbooks can be purchased through the American Heart Association eLearning Store or on Amazon.

  • Some classes require a textbook for entry, so please check your course details before your scheduled date.

  •

6. Do I need to bring a manikin for virtual skills sessions?
Yes. Students are responsible for having an AHA-approved manikin with a feedback device. Options include disposable inflatable manikins or Prestan manikins (available on Amazon). Your manikin must be set up and tested before your session begins.

7. Do you offer group or onsite training?
Yes! CPR Buddy offers mobile training for businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities. Contact us to schedule a group class at your location.

8. How long is my certification valid?
All American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and First Aid certifications are valid for 2 years. You’ll need to renew before your card expires to stay current.

9. What if I can’t perform chest compressions due to injury or disability?
Students who are unable to complete the full hands-on skills testing will receive a BLS Advisor card instead of a Provider card. This card is still issued by the American Heart Association, but it is not OSHA-compliant and may not be accepted by employers that require BLS Provider certification. Please check with your school or employer before registering if you believe this applies to you.

.

10. Do you provide ADA accommodations?
Students are responsible for arranging their own ADA accommodations. CPR Buddy does not provide equipment or additional support beyond the standard class requirements. Please ensure your manikin and feedback devices are compliant with AHA standards.
